GMB International Handle Short Notice Goods Bounded for Azerbaijan
GMB International Shipping successfully handled short notice shipment safely considering the coming weekend, road restrictions, the cutoff times from the shipping lines and port authorities.
On 10 September 2019, GMB received an email from an agent in Turkey to provide quotations for local formalities, local transportation, loading, lashing and securing of units that needed to be exported to Izmit Korfezi, Turkey for further transportation to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Despite the best prices offered, their partner still considered them to be very high. There was a long interval of silence afterwards from their partner however on Wednesday, 18 September, GMB International received another email late afternoon confirming that the job was approved by the client.
GMB had to book 1 x 40’ Flat Rack as soon as possible for it to be placed at the Shipper’s premises in Sharjah the next day on Thursday morning considering that they had to also get a booking approval from the Shipping Line for the OOG cargo as soon as possible as Thursday was their last working day of the week and that there was also road restrictions – GMB had requested the client to agree the reschedule of loading and lashing operations to Saturday morning, but the client insisted to at least finalize the loading procedure on Thursday.
GMB had a booking approved by the Shipping Line on Thursday morning and by the time they received the container from the terminal it was nearly noon. Their driver then had to rush to place the container in preparation for the loading procedure that evening despite heavy traffic on the roads.
At around 10.30 pm on Thursday 19 September GMB received a message from their driver that the cargo had been loaded safely, but due to a safety reason and even though their Lashing Team was on standby at the Shipper’s premises they decided to postpone the lashing operation to Saturday morning as they had enough time to spare before the cutoff time. GMB also planned container gate-in procedure at the terminal and customs procedure of export to be completed on Saturday.
GMB completed the job safely as planned. On 21 September, the container was on board of the vessel and sailed from the U.A.E to destination.

About All-in-One Logistics Network (AiO):
The AiO concept is all about leveraging strengths as a group.
Every logistics company in the world has its own strong points which depend upon the professional capabilities of their people, the needs of their customers and the aims and goals of the company. That has meant that some companies might handle only one type of cargo whereas other companies are experienced in more than one type of cargo. Until now this has meant that most independent freight forwarders need to join a few networks to cover each of their areas of expertise. We have changed all that.
When your company joins AiO you have the opportunity to enroll in various specialties including commercial cargo, project cargo, international removals, perishables and exhibition freight. From these specialties we form smaller groups specifically concentrated around that exact expertise. As such you will find that you have qualified companies for all your cargo all over the world, in one network. And they are all covered under the same financial protection. When you meet these companies at our annual general meeting you will only meet companies who are working in the type cargo that is of interest to your company so you can focus like a laser beam on the markets that will make your company grow and become more profitable.
It is plain to see that AiO’s revolutionary approach creates efficiencies for independent international logistics companies that did not exist before. We mean to open an entire world of freight and logistics opportunities to your company in a way that will make your customers happy, in a way that will feed your bottom line and in a way that will keep sales growing in your pipeline.
