TIBA organise successful movement of a transformer in Cuba
TIBA carried out the lifting of a 4.8 meters high transformer in the city of Moa, Cuba for its later transportation to the city of Nuevitas.
TIBA’s expert engineers in overweight and oversized cargo received the 250 MVA transformer in the substation of 220Kv CTE Lidio Ramón Pérez of Felton Holguín to lift it in our their own specialized transport.
Using both the central highway and secondary roads, TIBA moved the 178 tons of equipment 295 km to its final destination in the substation of 220Kv in the Thermoelectric Power Plant at Nuevitas, Camagüey, thus traveling narrow roads in a 12-axle modular trailer.
Upon reaching destination, TIBA’s team was responsible for the discharge of the transformer and the placement onto it’s final resting place with anchor bolts. TIBA´s experts decided to use hydraulic jacks for this movement in order to avoid the use of cranes inside the facilities.
